  "html": "<p>The European Commission has adopted a Decision extending the mandate of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https://ec.europa.eu/food/animals/welfare/eu-platform-animal-welfare_en\" title=\"https://ec.europa.eu/food/animals/welfare/eu-platform-animal-welfare_en\" aria-label=\"EU Platform on Animal Welfare\" data-wm-linkcode=\"C01\">EU Platform on Animal Welfare<\/a>&nbsp;until 30 June 2021 (<a href=\"https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?qid=1575382836801&amp;uri=CELEX%3A32019D1202%2801%29\" title=\"https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?qid=1575382836801&amp;uri=CELEX%3A32019D1202%2801%29\" aria-label=\"Commission Decision of 29 November 2019\" data-wm-linkcode=\"C02\">Commission Decision of 29 November 2019<\/a>).<\/p><p>The Platform assists the Commission with the development and exchange of coordinated actions on animal welfare with a particular focus on:<\/p><ul><li>the development and use of voluntary commitments by businesses to further improve animal welfare,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>the promotion of EU animal welfare standards to valorise the market value of the Union's products at the global level.<\/li><\/ul><ul><\/ul><ul><li>The additional time will ensure the continuity of the dialogue and the activities of the members on specific animal welfare files.<\/li><\/ul><p><em>During the 6th meeting, on 7th October 2019, the members ad<\/em><em>opted&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https://ec.europa.eu/food/animals/welfare/eu-platform-animal-welfare/platform_conclusions_en\" title=\"https://ec.europa.eu/food/animals/welfare/eu-platform-animal-welfare/platform_conclusions_en\" aria-label=\"several conclusions&lt;em&gt;&lt;/em&gt;\" data-wm-linkcode=\"C03\">several conclusions<em><\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;on animal transport, welfare of pigs and equi<\/em><em>nes.
